JFK

it was our final training day at BMC. our trainer, Kerry, seemed to be speeding through alot of the essentials for the last day course because one of our co-trainees had to fly back home at 3:30 in the afternoon. he dismissed us at 1pm. but before we all separated, i managed to group us altogether for a picture.

would you believe that we met 8 hours a day for a week & yet we do not each others' names! our trainer even had to lay down on the table our certificates for claiming....hahaha

kerry, our trainer is the first tall guy at the back. he actually resembles that of mel gibson w/ george clooney's voice.

anyway, getting out of work early provided me time to discover other places in dallas. i first went to the 6th floor museum of the dealy plaza. the dealy plaza (@ the 6th flr) is the spot where Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK with a sniper rifle down the road at Elm St. there's no picture taking aloud inside. the entrance fee cost me $10...

upon entering the museum, there are several synopsis' written on the walls & are glassed. these contained the sequence of events. i took one picture just before the entrance gates w/c later on i learned was prohibited...ahehe...

this is the second or third post on the wall. it details about the first room where JFK was rushed into. it contains quotes from the doctors. the hospital dress & shoes belonged to the doctor that tended to JFK.

...and here is the only spot where we can take pictures.....just beside the ticket counter....

inside it was walls & walls of meaningful snapshots of all the events, from the beginning of JFK's service to the government, to presidency, to fatherhood, to death...and to his legacy..there were 2 huge frames where people can sit & watch the funeral & second, his contributions to the society. what gave me the jitters is when i came to the corner of the 6th floor window where Lee Oswald barricaded himself with book boxes & fired the shot at JFK while parading (in a limousine), through Elm St. he was waving when he got shot at the neck (below the adam's apple), and right at the head (which fatally injured his brain). he was pronounced dead at 1pm of november 22, 1963. lee oswald, who was caught running to a theater nearby did die 2 days later (this was well documented & photographed), at almost the same time of JFK's demise. there were the conspiracies as well...that the gunshots came from the grassy knoll, just a few meters away & not from a high point.

anyway, it was a chilling but good experience. i went to the gift shop at the ground floor & bought a newspaper headlining the assasination for more than $4.

it's an exact replica of the herald dated 11/23/1963

the entrance to the musem

the dealy plaza

i was starving after the tour so i walked all the way bout 3 blocks to the west end marketplace. this stretch had several bars & by the dead end, there's the shopping store w/ several antiques on sale.

the corner @ the west end where you can ride a trolly as well

behind me is the main shopping center

these shells are actually alive. they are for sale for petting purposes...

eating at Roma's steak. i ordered the marinated salmon steak & it was delicious! it cost me more than $15 w/c is the most since i came here in the US.

afterwards, i went looking for the deep ellum district w/c i by the way, did not enjoy at all. i anticipated that it would look like the citywalk strip at the universal studios but it's not. it's a long street full of clubs & tattoo shops, which were still closed when i passed by at 4pm. so fled away, that area scared me a bit..i went to the gallera, again, because i had nothing to do. i ate an almost $5 dollar ice cream, but it was worth every lick...ahihi..

oh before i go, i just want to add that it amazes me when alot of people round here including LA are so mesmerized by my ring...'it's a mood ring', an answer i've replied to about a dozen of people already...hahaha...kewl...

i bought boots yesterday at the payless shoestore for $10 only. i love it! the box has this fancy art thing at the cover as well.

i might go to the dallas world aquarium tomorrow...if it does not rain. more of the amusement centers, parks etc..are too far from my suite & i am afraid to get lost again.
