lifehouse in manila

july 26, 2008

lifehouse came to town. bought tickets at the last minute (was getting hopeless getting a companion for weeks since the event was announced), ultimately finding an old friend who got equally excited as i was & joined me. then my sister invited her bestfriend mayi & our sister-in-law sam. we opted (only) for the cheapest seats (P990 free seating. the lower section was sold out) at the araneta coliseum.

during & after the concert

ofcourse all of us got mushy & melodramatic when lifehouse sang 'you & me', 'blind', 'whatever it takes' & 'broken'. *:)

after the 1 1/2 hour concert, we went to the meat shop. ian's bandmates & their friends followed after. rhum coke night once again. nice... *:)

the young ones hehe; w/ bitoy who danced on the table after this shot haha

forgive me...i went to dolce...

haha. oh well. purely peer pressure. tempting i guess (the change of pace). as my people handling skills' seminar speaker told me, 'expand your comfort zone'. *:)
well...the concept is still the same right? have fun!
my bff's hubby was out of town...so it was a 'while the cat is away, the mouse will play' kind of thing...haha! peace bff.
met up with alex first at sm north in the afternoon to buy 'lifehouse' concert tickets. ye yea yeah! i went to the araneta to watch the concert the day after. will post that later.
after a little bit of shopping for shoes & plenty of connie's kitchen's toasted wheat bread, arribiata & pesto sauces, we went at the open starbucks area at the top floor of trinoma. my bff, sheila, arrived after a few hours.
at the starbucks
after brief girly chit-chats, my bff & myself went off to dolce at timog while alex went home.
at the d:

friend jerome; pbb friends franzen, rico & his cousin raymond
franzen & my bff
after 4 glasses of rhum cokes, the used to be dissonant sound in my ears extinguished everything i wanted to forget...& i let myself get swayed away...

crisis (& traffic) reliever

july 23, 2008

what my friend agnes recently blogged at her site was true.

i endured an ardous 5-hour crisis at work, couldn't leave my desk for food, toilet break nor yosi break. exasperated & oh so tired, i sent agnes an sms asking if she was at work an hour before my shift ended, hoped that i could hook up w/ her for a day-ender drink out. she replied she was bound home, waiting for the lrt. to fast forward, she did not hesitate 1-minute & gladly commuted back to makati. she told me after that she wanted that night-out so bad too as she was on 'emo' (emotional) mode that day. plus, traffic in edsa was gonna drive me more mad so i decided to stay in makati 'til it died down. wise eh?
so while i did my turn-overs to the next shift super, i sent the rest of my previous officemates the same sms question. then we were 4.
met up w/ them at dencio's paseo. agnes & dhon were already there.
dhon & agnes
juvs at the leftmost, who arrived before 10pm
learned that most bars in makati closes at midnight during weekdays so we went home like a bunch of cinderellas hihi. after 4 rhum cokes & 2 beer buckets, we called it a night. all of us have work early the next day anyways.
calling out to other ex-skycablenet employees! join us next time will ya?

love?

he said he loves her, but not as much as he loves me...
good thing i am a cynic...

love is not quantifiable.

you cannot love one person "a little" and love someone else "a lot".

it's just either you love someone or you do not.

you are revolting.

aeternum vale!

photo-op w/ cynthia

july 19, 2008

though fatigued from the earlier malling w/ my daughter, i went to the conspiracy bar w/ alex that evening to watch cynthia alexander for a segunda ocasiĆ³n.
it was a photo-op for alex & her friends. i felt i was the persona (non) grata since she met there mondy, a semi-professional photographer friend, & her UP photography professor to take..well..photos of the event. naaahhh...it was cynthia's gig anyways & i simply went there for her divine music.
zach (from nu107 & sandwich) was there w/ her petite mestiza friend. he was invited by cynthia to jam w/ them 1 song.

goofing around w/ cynthia, alex & mondy

i still brought my camera & here's the single shot i had. very proficient huh. hehe

peace!

unica hija dia.

brought my baby to the mall w/ my mom. met alex there. she needed meds she could buy at the healthy options. she used my membership card for the points which we thought initially was gonna benefit her discounts. so she eventually signed up for membership herself instead. sorry alex..it thought so too hehe.

while at the store, i took pictures of my baby doing a peace sign which she learned from her ninang just a few minutes ago.
still learning..
now she got it...peace mommy! hehe
while my mom looked for a gift for a christening the next day, we stayed at the toy section inside landmark. my daughter got immediately enthralled by the moving toy train by the entrance. she watched, behaved, for several minutes, derailing the train every now & then hihi.

then she saw this clock..

bangs to bangs - by alex

i can just easily ask my baby how old she is, then she'd flash her 2 fingers 'ya know! haha

we ate at the food court for dumplings, razon's halo-halo & shawarma, then sent them home straight away for another cynthia alexander night. *:)

project 6

--recently went to fix to get me full bangs. a li'l experiment that i can't just recall if it does not totally concur w/ what i conceptualized myself to look like. coaxed myself to attempt something i've never tried on my now very long straight (& boring) black hair (just dyed it raven black a week ago). i'm marveled by the emphatic feedback i got from the first few people who saw me in bangs. a gamut of comments from an earnest 'it compliments your face' to the ridiculous 'you look like a barbie doll!'. next month i'll get a digi-perm. *:P
--got hounded w/ sms all day long by my brother about his gig in the evening. it was project 6's annual fiesta, & san miguel corp. (for red horse beer) sponsored a small rock event in the area. his band kamada played alongswith slapshock. he specifically requested that i video them. so i did.
slapshock members are from project 6 & the band composed a song for the beer label (yes they are the current endorser), entitled 'sigaw', hence, they participated in the project & led the number of various other front acts who played to amuse the young (& the restless) project 6 residents.
bj (fallen oppression w/ ian) & bong (kamada w/ ian), both long-time family friends & neighbors, were ex-slap members. so when slap plays, my brother's bands always tag along...so did i.. *:)

kamada (outside jamir's internet shop)

during kamada's gig..

ginger, onie, bong, ian & ac

marion, ian & onie
then slapshock...ofcourse the camera was always focused on lee hehe..he tagged his wife & son along. his son's a 'mini-me' of lee! the resemblance is astonishing. the only differences from lee to his son were the mohawk, height, moustache & tattoos!
jamir, romancing the crowd
and away from the spotlight were...
alex, sam (ian's wife), alma (a slap member's wife), bong's wife, joy (marion's wife), ona (jeff's gf) & me! we were toasting on rhum coke here at the backstage
w/ sam & bj; w/ slap's very young manager
at the slaphouse after the gig: ian, bj & chi; alex & bj's wife
